Results From The 54th Grammy Awards

The 54th Grammy Awards were tonight and to nobodies surprise Adele was rolling in awards breaking a Grammy record for winning all 6 categories for which she was nominated for while backing up her cause with a performance of her song “Rolling in the deep”.

Kanye West added four more Grammys to his collection, including Best Rap Album for “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”. This brings Kanye’s career total of Grammys to 18, which is more than any other rapper in Grammy history(wow).

Chris Brown took home his first Grammy for best R&B Album with “F.A.M.E”, which comes just 3 years after all the Rihanna drama which happened on the night of the 2009 Grammys, great comeback for Breezy. Jennifer Hudson paid tribute to the recently passed Whitney Houston nailing a cover to one of her greats “I’ll Always Love You”.  On a lighter note, did anyone see what Lady Gaga was wearing? I was trying to think to myself where does she get the idea to wrap her head in fishnet and wear a dog collar? But better yet where is the thought process that tells her she looks like a complete moron!

There were only two let downs of the night for me, one was the decision for best new artist as Bon Iver(??) took home the Grammy although I felt J. Cole was a no-brainer for that award as he plays a much bigger role in the overall music scene. The second let down of the night for me was Nicki Minaj’s performance as she tied in a spin off of the exorcism of Emily Rose to show off Roman (one of her many split personalities). It seemed to me there was too much focus on the visual aspects of her performance and not enough focus on what the Grammys are all about……Music!

Here is the list of tonight’s notable winners.
